Maybe we're looking at this through the wrong end of the telescope,  
then.

Perhaps what we want is another I7 release directive, "Release as  
distributable source" or some such, which makes a zipfile out of  
uuid.txt, Settings.plist, Source/story.ni, and the empty Build and  
Index directories.  If you *open* that file with Inform, it unpacks it  
into a .inform directory.
